Geologic Stones Collection
To create this solid 925 sterling silver ring (14.5 grams), I used the lost-wax casting technique.
The top section measures 1.5 x 1.1 cm.
Before becoming a piece of jewelry, it was entirely hand-carved in wax using only a saw; by varying the cutting angle, I created distinct layers to prepare it for casting in silver.

Geology—the science primarily dedicated to studying the Earth—encompasses a multitude of disciplines. Anthony Barrouyer’s ring collection, inspired by this theme, presents a cohesive jewelry style while offering distinct characteristics across individual pieces. The rings, pendants, and bracelets are crafted from 925 sterling silver—sometimes combined with 18-karat (750/1000) gold—and may feature semi-precious or precious stones. In some creations, the aesthetic—achieved through the interplay of angles, recesses, and cutouts in the metal—evokes the rugged appearance of rocky landscapes, cliffs, crevasses, and steep terrain shaped by the erosion of time.
At times, striations in the metal recall the layered sedimentary strata found in rock formations. Other pieces, crafted from 925 silver and 18-karat gold, evoke volcanic activity—specifically the appearance of post-eruption volcanic rock like scoria; the metals appear to have fused, melted, or even burst apart under the influence of extreme heat.
Pendants from the "Krazy Stones" collection may evoke plate tectonics, featuring layered elements of 925 silver that create a style that is simultaneously geometric and asymmetrical.
Finally, other pieces—all of which are unique—reference speleology, specifically the stalactites and stalagmites that form and evolve within caves. Their shapes are irregular and elongated, and at times, they appear to merge to form columns.
