Geologic Stones Collection - Solid Silver Rings with Black Diamond
Material: Solid silver 925/1000
Stone: Diamond (0.53 carats)
Weight: 31.5 grams
Geology, a science whose main subject of study is the Earth, encompasses multiple disciplines. The collection of Anthony Barrouyer's rings associated with this theme also presents a style of jewelry with a common spirit but different characteristics. The rings, pendants, and bracelets are made of solid silver at a legal fineness of 925/1000, sometimes associated with gold at a legal fineness of 750/1000, with or without semi-precious or precious stones. For some creations, the aesthetics achieved through the work of angles, hollows, and openings in the metal evoke the physiognomy of rocky landscapes, cliffs, crevices, steep slopes, marked by the erosion of time.
Sometimes the streaks in the metal of the ring recall the layering of geological sedimentary rocks that can be observed in rocks. Other jewelry pieces in 925/1000 silver and 750/1000 gold may resemble volcanism, specifically the appearance of volcanic rocks after an eruption, such as slag, where metals seem to have fused or melted, or even shattered, under extreme heat.
Pendants from the Krazy Stones collection may evoke plate tectonics, with the superimposition of different 925/1000 silver pieces giving a geometric but asymmetrical style.
Lastly, for other pieces, all unique as I mentioned, there is a reference to speleology, more specifically stalactites and stalagmites, forming and evolving in caves. Their shapes are irregular, elongated, and sometimes they seem to come together to form columns.
As you may have understood, the Geologic Collection is a visual journey, with a raw, distinctive style where the aesthetics of the jewelry underline the physical history of our complex and secretive planet.
