This solid silver ring is set with a black diamond, a gem with extraordinary characteristics.

Scientists have long debated the circumstances of the appearance of this stone.

Today, the researchers' main theory is that this diamond would have originated from a collision between our planet and an asteroid dating back hundreds of millions of years (2.6 to 3.8 billion years ago). The debris from the collision would have spread into the atmosphere and landed in Africa and Brazil. This black gemstone is therefore distinct from other diamonds whose origin is volcanic, and it captivates with its origin and components.

Geologic Stones Collection - Solid Silver Rings with Black Diamond

Material: Solid Silver 925/1000
Stone: Diamond (0.30 carats)
Weight: 14.07 grams

Geology, a science whose main object of study is the Earth, encompasses multiple disciplines. The collection of rings by Anthony Barrouyer associated with this theme also presents a style of jewelry, with a common spirit but different characteristics. The rings, pendants, bracelets are made of solid silver at a legal title of 925/1000 sometimes combined with gold at a legal title of 750/1000, with or without precious or semi-precious stones. For some creations, the aesthetics achieved by the work of angles, hollows, openings in the metal, evoke the physiognomy of rocky landscapes, cliffs, crevices, steep slopes marked by the erosion of time.

Sometimes the striations in the metal of the ring recall the layering of geological sedimentary rocks that can be observed in rocks. Other pieces of jewelry in 925/1000 silver and 750/1000 gold, may resemble volcanism and more precisely the appearance of volcanic rocks after eruption, such as scoria. The metals seem to have fused or melted, or even exploded, under the effect of extreme heat.

Pendants from the Krazy Stones collection may evoke plate tectonics, with the superposition of different pieces of 925/1000 silver giving a geometric but asymmetrical style.

Finally, for other pieces, all unique as a reminder, there is a reference to speleology, more specifically to stalactites and stalagmites, born and evolving in caves. Their shapes are irregular, elongated, and sometimes they seem to come together to form columns.

As you have understood, the Geologic Collection is a visual journey, with a very distinct raw style where the aesthetics of the jewelry underline the physical history of our complex and secretive planet.
