Geologic Stones Collection
To create this 925 sterling silver ring (23.5 grams), I used the lost-wax casting technique.
The face measures 1.6 x 2 cm.
Before becoming a piece of jewelry, I sculpted it entirely in wax using only a saw, employing a different cutting angle each time. I created several layers before casting it in silver.

Geology, a science whose primary object of study is the Earth, encompasses numerous disciplines. Anthony Barrouyer's ring collection, associated with this theme, also presents a style of jewelry, sharing a common spirit but with distinct characteristics. The rings, pendants, and bracelets are crafted from sterling silver (925/1000 legal standard), sometimes combined with gold (750/1000 legal standard), with or without semi-precious or precious stones. In some designs, the aesthetic achieved through the use of angles, hollows, and openings in the metal evokes the appearance of rocky landscapes, cliffs, and rugged crevices, marked by the erosion of time.
Sometimes the striations in the ring's metal evoke the layering of geological sedimentary strata found in rocks. Other pieces, crafted from 925 sterling silver and 750 gold, may resemble volcanism, specifically the appearance of volcanic rocks after an eruption, such as scoria. The metals appear to have fused, melted, or even shattered under the intense heat.
Pendants from the Krazy Stones collection may suggest plate tectonics, with the layering of different pieces of 925 sterling silver creating a geometric yet asymmetrical style.
Finally, other pieces, each unique, reference speleology, specifically stalactites and stalagmites, which form and evolve in caves. Their shapes are irregular, elongated, and sometimes they seem to converge to form columns.
As you've probably gathered, the Geologic Collection is a visual journey, a raw and distinctive style where the jewelry's aesthetic highlights the physical history of our complex and mysterious planet.
