To create this solid 925/1000 sterling silver ring (26.9 grams), I used the lost wax casting technique.

The setting measures 2.5 cm x 1.5 cm.

Before becoming a piece of jewelry, I sculpted it entirely in wax using only a saw, cutting at different angles each time, creating different layers to cast it in silver.

I then applied a patina to give my work even more dimension.

Geologic Collection - Solid Silver and Opal Rings

Material: Solid silver 925/1000
Stone: Opal (3.62 carats)
Weight: 26.9 grams

Geology, a science whose main object of study is the Earth, encompasses multiple disciplines. The collection of rings by Anthony Barrouyer associated with this theme also presents a style of jewelry with a common spirit but different characteristics. The rings, pendants, and bracelets are made of solid silver at a legal fineness of 925/1000, sometimes combined with gold at a legal fineness of 750/1000, with or without fine or precious stones. For some creations, the aesthetic achieved through the work of angles, hollows, and openings in the metal evokes the physiognomy of rocky landscapes, cliffs, crevices, and escarpments marked by the erosion of time.

Sometimes the striations in the metal of the ring resemble the layering of geological sedimentary rocks that can be observed. Other pieces of jewelry in 925/1000 silver and 750/1000 gold may resemble volcanic activity, specifically the appearance of volcanic rocks post-eruption, such as slag, where metals appear to have fused, melted, or even shattered due to extreme heat.

Pendants from the Krazy Stones collection may evoke plate tectonics, with the superimposition of different pieces of 925/1000 silver creating a geometric yet asymmetrical style.

Finally, for other pieces, all unique as I remind you, there is a reference to speleology, specifically stalactites and stalagmites forming and evolving in caves. Their shapes are irregular, elongated, and sometimes they seem to come together to form columns.

As you have understood, the Geologic Collection is a visual journey, with a raw, distinctive style where the aesthetics of the jewelry underline the physical history of our complex and secretive planet.
