The legend of the Nemean lion is derived from Greek mythology, with the most famous episode being that of the twelve labors of Hercules. In this tale, Hercules must face the lion and, emerging victorious, he is often depicted wearing the lion's skin.
Several artists have drawn inspiration from the Nemean lion, such as Pierre Paul Rubens, as well as engravers like Augustin Dupré who depicted Hercules on French silver coins.
Before it became a piece of jewelry, I sculpted it entirely in wax using only a burin to obtain the layers before casting it in silver.
Then, I applied a patina to create more depth.
